In den USA hat Honda America angekündigt, dass es im 2018+ Modell 2 Updates für das GPS geben wird:

- ab 4 Oktober 2018, update 1. Die Route und die Points of Interest werden wieder sichtbar gemacht, wenn das GodWing wieder auf kontakt gesetzt wird

- im Januar 2019 update Erhöht die Anzahl der Navigationswegpunkte signifikant.

Die Navigationssysteme aller Gold Wing-Modelle 2018 und 2019 teilen sich die gleiche Plattform. Die neu angekündigten 2019-Modelle werden standardmäßig mit Update 1 ausgeliefert; Besitzer von 2018-Modellen können Update 1 am oder nach dem 4. Oktober herunterladen. Besitzer der Modelle 2018 und 2019 können Update 2 ab Januar herunterladen.

Die Downloads können von der Honda USA Website für die amerikanischen 2018 Besitzer heruntergeladen werden. Da die GPS-Firmware für Europa anders ist, muss Honda Europe selbst eine Möglichkeit schaffen, diese Updates herunterzuladen. Ich hoffe mit dem zweiten Update mit mehr Via-Punkten, dass endlich dieses GPS genutzt werden kann und ich nicht nur mit meinem Garmin Zumo fur schöne Touren auf Landstraßen.

Sep 25, 2018 - TORRANCE, Calif Honda announced today that the first of two planned navigation updates for the Gold Wing will be available beginning October 4, with the second scheduled for January 2019.

Update 1 – October 4: Provides revisions so that route guidance and points of interest will continue after the ignition is turned off and then back on, and to correct a daylight savings date change.

Update 2 – January: Provides a significant increase in the maximum number of navigation waypoints.
The navigation systems on all 2018 and 2019 Gold Wing models share the same platform. The newly announced 2019 models will come standard with Update 1; owners of 2018 models can download Update 1 on or after October 4. Owners of both 2018 and 2019 models can download Update 2 beginning in January.
Starting October 4, details on where to download and how to install will be available at www.powersports.honda.com. At that time, customers can also sign up to be automatically notified when future updates are available.
American Honda is committed to continuously supporting customers and providing Gold Wing navigation software updates, including map upgrades, which are free for both 2018 and 2019 models.

Ich arbeite auch mit KURVIGER.de und kann das nur bestätigen was Wolfgang sagt. Mit den 8 Wegpunkten bei der Routenplanung habe ich keine Probleme (auch bei größeren geplanten Routen). Konnte es in der Praxis leider noch nicht testen, weil ich das Möppi erst im Oktober gekauft habe.

P.S.: Über Apple Car habe ich mir MagicEarth installiert. Es ist ein tolle kostenlose Navi Software wo man sich weltweit kostenlos Karten laden kann. Es beinhaltet auch ein Radarwarner.

Zur Sicherheit, falls das Navi mal nicht so will wie ich, habe ich noch mein Zumo 590LM angebaut. Ich kann das Teil in einer Minute mit Halterung abbauen ( Steckverbindung) und im Topcase verstauen. Die Verkabelung ist ganz einfach, man muss nur die Sitzbank abbauen um das Kabel zum Sicherungskasten zu verlegen. Wenn die Bordspannung abgestellt ist, wird auch der Strom zum Navi unterbrochen.
